The food that we eat, makes us what we are.
Considering the innumerable options of the available food, it becomes a task to decide the right items and the right quantity.
That is the reason, we need to plan what we eat. The planning can be done daily, weekly or even monthly.
The main idea behind the planned food intake is to consume all the required nutrients and minerals in appropriate quantities.
- To begin with let there be a list of regular recipes that are cooked at home. The list should be long.
- It can include sabzi, salads, breads, roti, and stuffed parathas, rice in various forms and combinations, snacks and something sweet. The shakes, milk with different additives and a variety of juices and other healthy drinks.
- As far as possible the food items should be cooked at home in the most hygienic conditions with healthy and safe oils and condiments.
- The foods that we eat should most be devoid of any kind of preservative and tastemaker. Both these contain salts that may cause harm to the body. Regular use of these salts need to be avoided.
- The different types of food items need to be well distributed in different meal times throughout the week. Care has to be taken that, there is no over loading and repetition of a single food item in the meal plan. The food has to be a balanced one with each type of category every day.
- A very important aspect of a meal plan is the right time of eating. The breakfast needs to be done early so that the acid accumulation does not happen in the empty stomach. There should be small eating times in between the lunch and dinner. It is better to have a fixed time for a particular meal.
